The DS-2 Duo Source system uses, as its name implies, two different types of transducers to pick up the sound of the guitar. These are the high quality Platform under-saddle pickup and a miniature electret condenser microphone inside the guitar body. By adding and blending the sound from the microphone to the sound of the under-saddle pickup these two transducers produce a natural acoustic tone comparable to recording studio quality.
Players who produce percussive effects by tapping on the top and sides of their instrument will appreciate how much better this sounds with the addition of the built in microphone.
