Maple - esdoorn

Harde, stabiele houtsoort. Een hals geheel gemaakt uit maple klinkt helder en duidelijk, met veel tophoog, attack en sustain. Wij gebruiken uitsluitend Canadian Rock Maple, deze maple soort is veel harder en sterker dan Europees maple en daardoor de 1e keus voor halshout. Naast glad maple zijn gevlamd (tiger stripe) en birdeye maple prachtige variaties. 
Very hard and strong. A maple neck has a bright sound with lots of high end, attack and sustain. We only use Canadian Rock Maple. There is plain maple or beautifull birdeye or tiger stripe maple.

Mahogany - mahonie
Niet zo compact en sterk als maple. De toon is warm maar met wat minder sustain. Wordt meestal gebruikt in combinatie met een ebben toets.
Not as dense or strong as maple. Good for warmer tone but with a bit less sustain. Is usually combined with a ebony fingerboard.

Maple fingerboard - Esdoorn toets:
Klinkt helder en duidelijk, met veel tophoog, attack en sustain. 
Has a bright sound with lots of high end, attack and sustain.

Rosewood fingerboard - palissander toets:
Geeft een maple neck een warmere toon, met wat minder attack en tophoog.
Makes the tone of a maple neck warmer, with less attack and high end.

Ebony fingerboard - ebben toets:
Bijzonder harde houtsoort. Klinkt strak en duidelijk, met iets minder tophoog dan maple, maar wel met veel attack en sustain. Glad gepolijst geeft het veel speelcomfort.
Extremely hard wood, sounds very clear and bright. Just a little less high end compared to maple but has lots of attack and great sustain. When polished it plays very smooth.
